Best gelato outside of Italy. Creative flavors. Chocoholic will LOVE their Fondante gelato. The lactose intolerant will love the great sorbet flavors. I had peach and lemon and found medium Suze more than big enough. The delectable wafer cookie garnish seems to be for insiders only as our friends saw their gelato topped with this crispy garnish while my husband's and mine were not. We enjoyed our treats in their outside streatery setup which was a bit too enclosed to have safer flowing fresh air, but if you're not health concerned it's a lovely al fresco setup. The authentic Italian menu is very enticing for a return visit. We've dined there before and loved everything. Chef was accommodating of food allergies. There are a few comfy tables in the back area on ground level and I've not seen their additional seating area upstairs. Great attention to quality and authenticity. We each bought some imported Italian products from their long display area along the right wall. Mostly packaged food items are offered but some personal grooming products as well. This place is a Philadelphia treasure. Slightly awkward payment setup where you decide what size you want from front gelato case then head halfway into the venue to pay cashier and return with receipt to the front. I guess it keeps food handling and money handling separate, which is good but when busy you'll find yourself in two lines -- to pay and to order. So delicious it's worth the wait but, on this day, there was very minimal wait mid-afternoon.

Very tasty, delicious, good, athentic Italian food. Pasta, meat, gelato, a thousand desserts, barrista cafe. I always buy their largest bags of coffee beans every time I visit Philly. It's sooooo good. Service was fast and good. Soccer game on screen. Bar tender will ring the big golden bell when scored. Also, they have lots of alcohol. There's a second floor for more seating. Some outdoor seating.

So glad I finally made it here! My friend and I came for Center City Sips and had a great time. We sat at the bar on the ground level amidst all the action which made for a great atmosphere. For the Sips drink specials, I tried the Hugo (prosecco, mint, elderflower, club soda) which was refreshing and delicious. I obviously also had to get an Aperol Spritz which really hit the spot on a hot day. From the Sips food specials menu, I got the Melanzana Parmigiana (eggplant, fresh ricotta, fior di latte mozzarella & tomato sauce) and the Carciofi Fritti (flash fried artichokes with lemon) which were both excellent. The artichokes especially were great - crispy and not too oily as fried vegetables can often be. The portions were a little small, but I'm not sure if that's just for Sips or representative of their portion sizes all the time. I couldn't leave without eating gelato, so I got a small Kinderino (Fior di latte with chocolate chunks & hazelnut wafers) which was amazing. Service was fast and friendly throughout our visit. I can't wait to come back and eat and drink my way through the menu!

Such yummy and authentic Italian food! They have many different "sections" that suit your specific needs! Downstairs is the coffee and gelato bar, where you can grab a quick bite of a pastry or panini. They also sell different Italian goods and spices! Upstairs, you have some people watching sports games on the live TVs, some sitting at the bar, and also traditional dine-in seats. They start you off with complimentary and refillable bread and olive oil with black pepper. This olive oil had the most rich nutty flavor, and the bread was incredibly soft. We got the lunch menu carbonara and seafood salad (insalata di mare). They also have a weekly rotating menu highlighting different areas in Italy. The seafood salad was incredibly refreshing, with a bright note of citrus and olive oil. The carbonara's portion was small, but so yummy with the sauce coating the pasta perfectly. We finished with the medium gelato - half and half with bacio (chocolate hazelnut) and passione sorbete (passion fruit, coconut, chocolate). Loved the bacio - so incredibly creamy and hazelnutty... the passione was too sour for my taste. Our server was very efficient but also gave us a lot of time to enjoy our food.

Completely amazing lunch. Quite possibly the best tagliatelle dish I've ever eaten. Was concerned the meal would be too heavy on a 90 degree day but the dish was surprisingly light. I ate upstairs at the bar with Carlo who was friendly, efficient and helpful. Euro 24 was on the TV (England playing down to the opposition for another draw) with the cafe all dressed and ready for Forza Azzurri a bit later. Most definitely will return, hopefully with friends. Grazie!

I asked for a good coffee while I was visiting my good friend in Philadelphia and here we are! Authentic Italian coffee! We sat by the bar. They offer 4 different blends. We ordered 2 double espresso and one tiramisu. This place is a must go!

Food is mid, gelato is good. Would recommend the hot chocolate (to share) as something different (not a drink).
